My Indonesia conference is now official

I'm looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday, June 27, at Espace Welcome in Angers for this Indonesia conference. The venue is at 4 Place Maurice Sailland, right across from the post office. Doors open at 1:30 PM and close at 5:00 PM. Entry is €10 per person, payable on site in cash or by card.

My Indonesian adventures in sound and pictures

My very first trip to Java in 2016, meeting my future wife, our documentary about the lives of local visually impaired people, our wedding, our restaurant, our house — I'll tell you about all of it. Soundscapes and videos recorded on location will be played throughout to create a fully immersive atmosphere. I'll share my most memorable stories and introduce you to Java through my own very personal view of this fantastic island.

The flavors of Java

Beyond the recordings and videos you'll see and hear throughout the afternoon, another one of your senses will be woken up too. My wife will be preparing appetizers to hand out to the audience during the breaks between my stories at the mic. Savory bites (spring rolls and vegetable fritters), sweet treats (pineapple biscuits and coconut-filled pancakes), and coffee straight from our village — you'll have plenty to enjoy while getting a better sense of the richness of Indonesian cuisine.

Indonesia in Angers, before the real thing

I'm organizing this Indonesia conference in Angers above all so people can have a good time and learn a little more about a country I love so much. It's also a great opportunity for me to talk about Java Horizon, my concept for accompanying travelers on trips to Java. I'm hoping the idea catches on and the room fills up nicely.
