Terms and Conditions
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Article 1 — Purpose
These terms and conditions define how Java Horizon provides its travel companion services to travelers visiting Indonesia, as well as the respective rights and obligations of the provider and the client.
Any request for services from Java Horizon implies full and unreserved acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Article 2 — About the Service Provider
Java Horizon is the trade name under which Guillaume Hervier operates, a French sole trader ("auto-entrepreneur" / "micro-entrepreneur"), registered with the French National Business Registry (Registre National des Entreprises) under SIREN number 852 439 363.

Email : contact@javahorizon.com
Website : https://www.javahorizon.com
SIREN: 852 439 363 (French company registration number)
As a French sole trader ("auto-entrepreneur"), VAT does not apply, in accordance with Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code (Code Général des Impôts).
Article 3 — Nature of the Services
Java Horizon offers two clearly distinct types of service, which are the only ones giving rise to payment:
- Travel planning, carried out before departure: advice on choosing flights and accommodation, help designing the itinerary, and recommendations for preparing the trip (packing, formalities, best time to travel, etc.).
- Tour guide services, carried out on the ground in Indonesia: translating from Indonesian during the visits organized by the partner travel agency, and facilitating general communication with local guides and other service providers you meet along the way.
Article 4 — What Java Horizon Is Not
Java Horizon is neither a travel agency nor a tour operator or reseller within the meaning of the French Tourism Code (Code du tourisme). Java Horizon does not sell, book, or collect payment on the client's behalf for flights, accommodation, excursions, or any other tourist service.
The client pays for these services directly and personally to the partner local travel agency and the relevant providers (airlines, hotels, rental companies, etc.). Java Horizon is only paid for the two services described in Article 3, to the exclusion of any other tourist service.
Article 5 — Booking and Payment for Java Horizon Services
Any travel planning or tour guide service is first discussed between Java Horizon and the client (by email, phone, or contact form) to precisely define the content, duration, and price of the service before any confirmation.
Payment terms (amount, schedule, payment method) are communicated to the client before the service begins and are subject to explicit agreement between both parties.
Article 6 — Cancellation and Refunds
The client may cancel the tour guide service and request a refund of the amounts paid to Java Horizon up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure date.
A 10% deduction from the total service amount remains payable to Java Horizon in all cases, to compensate for the travel planning work already carried out beforehand (advice, itinerary preparation, correspondence with the client). The remaining balance — 90% of the amount paid — is refunded to the client.
After this 48-hour window before departure, no refund can be granted, as the service is considered to have begun.
This clause only applies to services paid directly to Java Horizon (travel planning and tour guide services). It has no effect on the cancellation terms for flights, accommodation, and excursions paid separately to the partner travel agency or third-party providers, which apply their own terms.
Article 7 — Liability
Java Horizon's liability is limited to carrying out the travel planning and tour guide services defined in Article 3. Java Horizon cannot be held liable for services provided by the partner travel agency, airlines, accommodation providers, local carriers, or any other third-party provider, nor for the consequences of events beyond its control (weather conditions, strikes, delays, cancellations, health or administrative restrictions, force majeure).
The client remains solely responsible for the required travel documents (passport, visa, any vaccinations) and for verifying their validity with the relevant authorities.
Article 8 — Travel Insurance
The client is strongly advised to take out travel insurance covering, in particular, repatriation, cancellation, and medical expenses before departure. Java Horizon does not itself offer insurance policies and cannot be held liable for the absence or inadequacy of such coverage.
Article 9 — Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with Articles L. 221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation), the client has 14 days to exercise their right of withdrawal from the confirmation of the service, unless the service has already begun, with the client's express agreement, before that period has expired.
Any withdrawal request must be sent by email to contact@javahorizon.com.
Article 10 — Intellectual Property
All content on the javahorizon.com website (text, photographs, logo, layout) is the property of Java Horizon, unless otherwise stated, and may not be reproduced without prior authorization.
Article 11 — Personal Data
Personal data submitted by the client through the site (contact form, newsletter sign-up) is used exclusively within the scope of the relationship with Java Horizon and is neither shared nor sold to third parties.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés), the client has the right to access, rectify, erase, and object to their data, which they may exercise by writing to contact@javahorizon.com.
Article 12 — Disputes and Mediation
In the event of a dispute, the client is invited to contact Java Horizon first to seek an amicable solution. Failing an agreement, in accordance with Article L. 616-1 of the French Consumer Code, the client, if they qualify as a consumer, may make free use of a consumer mediator.
Article 13 — Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by French law. Failing an amicable resolution, the competent French courts shall have sole jurisdiction over any dispute.
Article 14 — Contact
For any questions regarding these terms and conditions, you can contact Java Horizon by email at contact@javahorizon.com or by phone at +33 7 64 43 02 46.
